The 2020 fantasy football regular season has come to a close, leaving thousands upon thousands of fantasy gamers with nothing to cheer for this upcoming NFL Sunday.
Lucky for us, we have a massive 15-game DFS slate available, which will surely scratch the fantasy itch for all kinds of football fans.
This article will follow a similar format to my weekly start em’ or sit em’ column, only the focus will shift toward DFS. I'll provide guidance on players DFS enthusiasts should be looking to lock into several lineups and players who should be faded due to inflated salary or situation.
I’ll also shed light on teams’ motivations as they enter games with the playoffs in mind, because rostering players who may only play a quarter or two will easily result in negative EV.
So, without further ado, get ready for the first edition of the 2020 NFL Week 17 DFS locks and fades. Let’s start 2021 out with a bang!
QUARTERBACKS
LOCK: DESHAUN WATSON, HOUSTON TEXANS ($7,700 DRAFTKINGS, $8,700 FANDUEL)
The pay-up option at quarterback this week has to be Deshaun Watson. All reports state that he will be a full-go if he has no setbacks with his arm this week, and the spot versus the Tennessee Titans could not be better.
The Week 17 matchup has the projected highest total on the slate (56.0), and Watson has been one of the best fantasy QBs over the past month despite not having Will Fuller V at his disposal. Over his last three games played with a healthy Brandin Cooks, the fourth-year quarterback ranks third in fantasy points per game (25.2) and second in expected fantasy points per game (23.9) among QBs.
