- Seattle Seahawks rookie CB Shaquill Griffin has gotten first-team reps alongside Richard Sherman at training camp with Jeremy Lane sitting out the last several practices due to injury. Griffin is expected to contribute early in the season with DeShawn Shead expected to miss the start of the season after tearing his ACL in January.
- Last season, Griffin was the ninth-highest-graded FBS cornerback with an overall PFF grade of 88.3, his coverage grade of 88.1 was the sixth-highest.
- Griffin was targeted 73 times last season but only allowed 29 of those passes to be complete (39.7 percent) the lowest percentage among AAC cornerbacks with at least 242 snaps.
- Griffin played a lot of off-coverage in college at UCF and made plays in a similar set of coverages to those that the Seahawks run, notching four picks and 11 pass breakups in 2016.
