- Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph told reporters Tuesday that LB Shaquil Barrett wasn’t present at OTAs due to a hip injury and they will know more in a week. Barrett is scheduled for X-rays to determine the severity of the injury but his timetable for a return remains “unclear” and could miss a “significant amount of time.”
- Barrett ranked as tied for the 27th-best edge defender last season with an overall PFF grade of 81.1. He also ranked as the 18th-best edge defender against the run last season with a run defense grade of 81.2.
- With an 8.6 run-stop percentage, Barrett ranked ninth out of 56 3-4 OLBs in 2016 totaling 16 stops on 185 run snaps (a stop is anything that constitutes a “loss” for the offense). His pass-rush productivity f 10.2 ranked 20th among 57 qualifying 3-4 OLBs creating a total of 19 pressures on 145 pass-rush snaps (PRP measures pressure created on a per snap basis with weighting toward sacks).
