Running back Alvin Kamara missed the New Orleans Saints’ first practice of the week Wednesday, putting his status for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans at least in question.

Kamara is expected to be listed with a knee injury, NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill reported Wednesday.

Veteran running back Mark Ingram is Kamara’s top backup in New Orleans. The Saints also have running back Dwayne Washington on their 53-man roster and Josh Adams and Lamar Miller on the practice squad. Adams was just added Tuesday.

Kamara finished Sunday’s 27-25 loss to the Atlanta Falcons despite the injury. He carried the ball 13 times for 50 yards and caught four passes on seven targets for 54 yards.
Kamara has handled 146 carries for 530 yards with three touchdowns in eight games this season. He also leads New Orleans with 32 catches on 44 targets for 310 yards with four more scores.
The Saints are already shallow at wide receiver with Michael Thomas out for the season and are in the mix for free agent Odell Beckham Jr. Quarterback Jameis Winston is also out for the year with a torn ACL.
Quarterback Trevor Siemian started Sunday’s loss to the Falcons. Taysom Hill is another option for New Orleans at quarterback.
