Just checking, but you know the NFL regular season begins this week, right? I thought so! Well, if your draft is in the rearview mirror and you’re now regretting some of your picks, it isn’t too early to have a little dabble on the waiver wire. In fact, it is these first few weeks of the season when you have the biggest chance of scooping up some bargains. Here are some players likely to have been passed over on draft day who are worth a second look.

Defensive linemen

Carl Lawson, Cincinnati Bengals

Heading into his second year as a pro, Lawson really stepped up in the preseason, notching up an impressive four sacks, three hits, and two hurries from 48 pass-rushing snaps. Current depth charts don’t list him as the starter opposite Carlos Dunlap, but he’s moving in the direction to make it his role sooner rather than later.
