- San Francisco 49ers outside linebacker Solomon Thomas wasn’t able to work with his team at OTAs while he is finishing school at Stanford, but in order to make up for lost time, he spent some of the offseason working out with recently retired edge rusher DeMarcus Ware, according to Sporting News.
- Thomas was the second-highest graded defensive lineman last year in college football at Stanford with a 92.4 overall mark.
- Thomas also finished in the Top 10 in both Run Stop Percentage (12.0-percent, ranked seventh) and Pass Rushing Productivity (9.0, ranked eighth) among defensive tackles in the FBS last year.
- His pressure percentage by pass-rushing technique last season at Stanford looked similar to that of Ware’s in his 20-sack 2011 season, with both edge defenders winning the slight majority of their rushes with inside moves (Thomas 47.6-percent, Ware 44.6-percent).
