  • On Friday afternoon, Nicki Jhabvala from The Denver Post reported that former Air Force wide receiver, Jalen Robinette is going to try out for the Bills at their rookie minicamp.
  • Robinette was one of the premier deep threats in the FBS last season: 43.5 percent of his targets were deep balls in 2016 (traveled at least 20 yards in the air), which was the sixth-highest rate among 257 qualified receivers, and his 56.7 catch rate percentage ranked eighth.
  • Robinette’s ability to gain yardage in chunks is reflected in his per-snap production. The former Air Force receiver led 264 qualified FBS receivers last season with an average of 5.51 yards per route run; he was just one of two receivers to rank within the top 20 while seeing fewer than 70 targets.
  • As a receiver for Air Force, Robinette ran an extremely limited route tree as 82.6 percent of his routes in 2016 were either an out, hitch, post or go; Robinette gained 46.8 percent of his receiving yards last season on post routes alone.
  • Robinette was a candidate to be drafted, only for a decision to come down from the Air Force that athletes could not defer their active duty. Robinette is awaiting a final decision to be made regarding that.
