Ravens TE Waller suspended for a year

  • According to NFL’s Ian Rapaport, Baltimore Ravens tight end Darren Waller has been suspended for one year for violating the league’s policy and program for substances of abuse.
  • In 2016, Waller played 238 snaps for the Ravens and served as a backup to Dennis Pitta. He was targeted 15 times and logged 10 receptions for 85 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 0.77 yards per pass route run, ranking 70th of 75 tight ends with at least 10 targets.
  • With Waller suspended and Pitta released due to his hip injury, the Ravens have lost 71.5 percent of their tight end snaps from 2016. Quarterback Joe Flacco posted a passer rating of 120.8 when targeting Waller, the highest mark when targeting his tight ends and the 13th-highest mark in the league.
