- Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazete reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers and franchised running back Le’veon Bell may not be close to a new long-term deal. Bell has yet to sign his franchise tag and has been absent from both OTAs and now minicamp thus far.
- Bell was PFFs top graded running back in both 2015 (90.0 overall grade) and in 2016 (88.4). He was recently featured at #11 in the PFF top 50 players for 2017.
- This past season Bell was a tough guy to bring down, as he forced 61 total missed tackles, the third most out of all running backs. He averaged 3.01 yards after contact per carry which ranked ninth out 53 running backs with at least 80 carries.
- Bell was also very effective on passing downs in 2016. His receiving grade of 80.7 ranked seventh out of 62 running backs and he averaged the eighth most yards-per-route-run at 1.58. His pass-block grade of 81.7 ranked sixth.
