- Jamaal Charles’ knee is reportedly feeling much better in 2017, as he is making sharp cuts in offseason workouts and feels like he is back to his normal self. Charles is now 30 years old, but he has had most of the last two seasons off due to injury.
- Among running backs with at least 175 rushing attempts in 2014, Charles finished with a breakaway percentage of 32.6, which was eighth in the league. Breakaway percentage is a statistic that measures how much of a runner’s yardage comes on big plays (runs of 15 yards or more).
- Given Charles’ injury history, he is unlikely to ever be a workhorse back again, but his speed brings a home-run threat to a Denver offense that desperately needed one last season.
