- D'Onta Foreman was said to be in the best shape of his life after dropping 16 pounds to weigh in at 233 at the NFL Combine, but apparently showed up to Texans minicamp out of shape.
- In his final year at Texas, his heavy weight did not seem to affect his workload. He carried the ball 323 times, third-most of FBS running backs. He played 709 snaps, 11th-most of FBS running backs.
- At Texas, he averaged 3.54 yards after contact per carry, eighth-best in the FBS among running backs with at least 200 carries. His 64 tackles avoided rushing versus Power-5 opponents were second-most in the country.
- Foreman's weight did not appear to affect his breakaway ability in 2016, either, as he recorded 29 runs of at least 15 yards versus Power-5 opponents, the most of any running back.
