  • Arizona Cardinals first round pick Haason Reddick is projected to be a starter at inside linebacker when the Cardinals travel to Detroit in the season opener, according to Darren Urban of the team’s official website.
  • Reddick, Deone Bucannon and Karlos Dansby are expected to all see time at the two inside linebacker spots in Arizona’s 3-4 defense, but with Bucannon likely to start the season on the PUP list after undergoing ankle surgery this offseason, Reddick appears to slated to handle the bulk of those snaps.
  • He was viewed as a jack-of-all-trades player by the PFF Analysis team prior to the draft, capable of contributing as a run defender, pass rusher and cover man. His pass-rush ability should be especially useful in a Cardinals defense that blitzed on 40.9 percent of pass plays last season, well above the 30.3 percent league average.
  • Reddick’s 14.0 pass rush productivity ranked 17th out of 92 draft eligible edge defenders with at least 200 pass rush snaps in 2016, while his 20.1 pass rush productivity mark from the left side led the group among players with 100 or more pass rush snaps from the left side of the defense. (Pass rush productivity measures pressures on a per snap basis.)
