Andrews has bounced between being an elite and very good tight end throughout his six-year NFL career. In 2019, Andrews had an absurd 32.9% targets per route run and in 2021, he posted the third-most receiving yards by a tight end in a season in NFL history with 1,361. Every other season, Andrews has ranged from a 78-82 PFF receiving grade, which was still good for the fifth-highest grade for a tight end during the last season.
For most tight ends, there is no other real competition on the depth chart, but Andrews is an exception. Isaiah Likely took over as the Ravens' primary tight end in Week 11 after Andrews’ injury and was TE6 over the rest of the season. Likely was only playing one-third of Baltimore's offensive snaps or less before the injury. Andrews was consistently playing around 88% of Baltimore's offensive snaps in 2022, which dropped to around 75% in 2023. Part of that was the Ravens taking Andrews out for more run plays, but also because of Likely. There were only 80 plays during the first 10 weeks of last season where both Andrews and Likely were on the field.
Andrews is still a clear top-five fantasy tight end given the lack of competition for targets even with Isaiah Likely’s emergence, his new role in Todd Monken’s offense makes it unlikely he finishes at TE1 again like he did in 2021.
