Elliott

Elliott ranks 40th in career rushing attempts all-time despite playing only eight seasons. Earl Campbell is the only player with a higher rank who also played just eight seasons. Given the wear and tear on his body, it's understandable that his efficiency has diminished at this point in his career. While his cumulative rushing stats have remained average due to consistent double-digit carries per game, his efficiency has gradually decreased, resulting in lower PFF rushing grades and EPA.

Elliott is penciled in as the lead back of the offense, as there is little in the way of experience behind him on the depth chart. Rico Dowdle has tallied only 96 carries across four seasons, while the 5-foot-6, 176-pound Deuce Vaughn spent most of his rookie season as a healthy inactive after averaging 1.7 yards per carry. If Vaughn sees more time this season, it will likely be as a receiver. Royce Freeman is on his fifth team in the last five seasons and has largely served as a third-down back, thanks to his ability in pass protection.

Elliott has an ADP of RB37. If everything goes well, he can be a fantasy starter most weeks, but he might not be worth rostering unless conditions are ideal. Unfortunately, we probably won't have a clear picture until after most fantasy drafts are completed.
