Robinson missed the first four weeks of his rookie season but immediately became the Commanders' leading rusher in 2022. He consistently was given double-digit carries while playing less than 50% of the offensive snaps, a strong tell that when Robinson was on the field, he was probably getting the ball. This led to strong cumulative stats during his rookie season but below-average rate stats. The Commanders were a below-average run-blocking team grade that season, however, which didn’t help.

Robinson was given more playing time in his second season with Eric Bieniemy as offensive coordinator, but his strategy was so pass-heavy that his attempts per game decreased significantly. The Commanders had 20 fewer rushing attempts by running backs than any other team last season. The run blocking was better, leading to slightly improved per-play metrics, but Robinson's total rushing attempts and yards decreased despite his playing in more games.

A few NFL backfields have two clear running backs and a new coaching staff. Thus, we can make some educated guesses as to how the backfield will shake out. There is a wide range of outcomes, though. Robinson's ADP is just outside the top 30 running backs, which is fair for a player in this kind of situation with average talent.
