His attempts per game declined from 2022 to 2023 particularly early in the season. Corum dealt with a torn meniscus between seasons which contributed to his playing time. Michigan was also winning games, so Corum only had six carries in the fourth quarter of games over the first 10 weeks of the season. Over his last six games against Penn State, Maryland, Ohio State, Iowa, Alabama and Washington, he averaged 22 carries for 99 yards and 1.8 touchdowns per game.

If Kyren Williams suffers an injury, Corum should be the feature back and receive enough volume to be a top-10 fantasy running back. Considering Corum was a third-round pick and Williams was a fifth-round pick, there is at least a possibility Corum can win the starting job outright at some point. That could similarly lead to top-10 production.

An argument could be made that Corum is the best handcuff this season given the Rams' consistent use of a lead running back, their commitment to the run, and their offensive line. He’s also the perfect example of why you should pay attention to rankings and not projections in the preseason, because Corum isn’t projected to score a lot of points, but his ranking is higher because of what he could possibly do in the lead role.
