Our punter rankings take into account a combination of factors, but the most critical are the punter's skill and the likelihood that his team's offense will (or won't) effectively move the ball against the opposition's defense. As you might expect, there is a fair amount of volatility, and the anticipated Week Six performance often doesn't reflect the punter's full-season value.
This week, the Titans' Brett Kern moves into the top spot, largely because the Titans' offense is expected to struggle mightily against the Steelers' D. From a punting fan's perspective, no match-up this week is more interesting than Dolphins-Rams, with both Johnny Hekker and Brandon Fields expected to be quite busy; look for some serious punting yardage to be accumulated in South Florida on Sunday afternoon.
