WR Crowder 'fully expects' to play Week 1

  • Washington Redskins beat writer Nora Princiotti has reported that wide receiver Jamison Crowder ‘fully expects’ to play in his team’s regular season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. Crowder has been listed as questionable for the game after he suffered a hip injury in practice.
  • In 2016, Crowder was one of the most productive slot receivers in the NFL. Running 76.1 percent of his routes from the slot, he averaged 1.55 yards per route run, the ninth-highest mark among the league’s slot receivers.
  • He was especially effective on deep passes last season, posting the league’s third highest catch rate (63.6 percent) on passes that traveled 20-plus yards in the air.
  • Last season, Crowder was lethal on third down. He led his team in third down targets (35), and when targeted, he produced a catch rate (percentage of receptions compared to targets) of 62.9 percent, ranking fourth of 24 receivers with at least 35 third down targets.
