- Long-time veteran WR Anquan Boldin has reportedly left the Buffalo Bills and retired from the NFL. Boldin played 28 snaps against Philadelphia in his first preseason action for the Bills, saw three targets and caught just one pass for five yards, but he retires after a storied career as one of the best possession receivers of his era.
- Boldin caught 66.0 percent pf the passes thrown his way over the past eleven seasons, and had six years with double-digit broken tackles with the ball in hand, including 27 across 83 receptions back in 2006.
- Boldin’s overall PFF grade had been steadily declining over the past few seasons from a high of 88.4 in 2013, but he walks away without ever posting a grade below 70.0 (average) over a full season. He also had the highest WR rating (the passer rating when targeting an individual receiver) on the Detroit Lions roster last season (114.0).
