- In the wake of Jeremy Maclin’s release from the Kansas City Chiefs Friday, second-year receiver Tyreek Hill is set to start the season as the team’s No. 1 receiver.
- In his rookie season in 2016, Hill emerged as a versatile weapon for the Chiefs’ offense. He was the only wide receiver last season to rush at least 20 times and catch at least 60 passes. He rushed 27 times for 285 yards, averaging 10.6 yards per carry and racked up three scores on the ground. He also led the league in punt return yardage, with 592 yards.
- Hill accumulated six receiving scores, the most among all Kansas City’s receivers. Hill led the Chiefs receiving corps in receiving yards (593), deep yards (passes that travel at least 20 yards in the air, 199), WR rating (110.1), yards from the slot (202), and completion percentage (75.3 percent).
- Hill accumulated 599 receiving yards on the 260 routes that he ran, and his 2.3 yards per route run ranked him fifth of 96 receivers with at least 40 targets.
