  • Reports have come out that Detroit Lions left tackle Taylor Decker underwent shoulder surgery Monday.
  • Head coach Jim Caldwell indicated that Decker's surgery shouldn't be season-ending, but that Cornelius Lucas and Joe Dahl are among current candidates to replace him at left tackle.
  • In 2016, Decker performed admirably as a rookie finishing with a PFF grade of 82.4 that ranked 23rd among all tackles.
  • Decker impressed in both pass- and run-blocking in 2016, as his pass-blocking grade of 81.9 was 24th among tackles, while his run-blocking grade of 80.0 ranked 20th.
  • Considering Decker played all 1,089 possible snaps as a rookie, an extensive recovery would be a huge loss for a Lions offensive line that rated 19th in pass protection and 25th in run-blocking during the 2016 season.
