- According to Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune, Seahawks CB Deshawn Shead could be sidelined for some considerable portion of the 2017 regular season as he recovers from a torn ACL.
- Shead started opposite Richard Sherman in 2016, allowing one touchdown and a passer rating of 90.3 when targeted, and notching eight pass breakups as well as one interception over the year.
- Like Sherman, Shead was also a significant factor against the run, leading all cornerbacks in run stop percentage with 3.4 percent, some distance clear of the chasing pack.
- If Shead is out, the Seahawks will likely see a competition between veteran Jeremy Lane and rookie third-round pick Shaquill Griffin.
