S Malik Hooker's season comes to an end

  • The Indianapolis Colts have confirmed rookie free safety Malik Hooker will miss the remainder of the season with tears to his ACL and MCL. He left Sunday’s game versus the Jaguars after playing 27 snaps.
  • Hooker was in the midst of an impressive rookie campaign in which he is currently the 34th highest graded safety with an overall grade of 77.3. Coverage has been the strong point of his game so far and can be seen in his 24th ranked 81.2 coverage grade.
  • Playing mostly as a single high safety, his coverage was only targeted eight times on 249 cover snaps. When targeted though, Hooker was a boom or bust player, making plays on four of eight targets thrown his way and intercepting three of them, however, on the four targets he didn’t get his hands on the ball he surrendered three touchdowns.
