- The Oakland Raiders have finalized their 53 man roster, placing linebacker Jelani Jenkins on injured reserve, and waiving edge defender Shilique Calhoun among others.
- Jenkins had performed well against the run this preseason, making seven stops on 29 run snaps. His run stop percentage of 24.1% (percentage of stops per snap played in run defense) led all linebackers with 25-plus snaps against the run this preseason.
- Oakland drafted Calhoun in the third round in 2016, and he was not effective last season playing 173 snaps in a reserve role. He had one sack and only four total pressures in 66 pass rush attempts last year.
