- Per his own Twitter account, Derek Carr's new contract with the Oakland Raiders is done. It has been widely reported that the deal is worth in the region of $25 million a year, and will be for an additional five years for a total of $125 million.
- Carr is coming off a season where he finished as PFF’s sixth-highest-graded quarterback, earning a career-high 87.0 grade. In 2015, Carr earned an 86.4 grade, which was good for 10th-best among QBs.
- Carr was one of the NFL’s most accurate quarterbacks when throwing passes 20 or more yards down the field in 2016. His completion percentage of 51.8 percent ranked fifth-best among 34 qualifiers.
