Final Score
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16, Miami Dolphins 14
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay struggled to get out of their own territory for a large portion of the game thanks to a rough performance up front, but Ryan Griffin finally got things going in the fourth quarter. Griffin led the Bucs on three scoring drives in the final period, including one with 34 seconds remaining that featured a pair of excellent throws to tight end Tanner Hudson to set up the game-winning field goal.
Veteran edge defender Shaquill Barrett, who signed with the Buccaneers this offseason, turned in a strong performance against the run and rushing the passer in this one. He recorded multiple pressures and a handful of defensive stops along the way.
Miami Dolphins
Rookie Wisconsin product Michael Deiter had a very strong outing against Tampa Bay, picking up positive grades both in pass protection and as a run-blocker on the night.
Former first-rounder Charles Harris flashed brilliance rushing off the edge in this one, picking up multiple pressures and positively graded pass-rush snaps in the process.
Miami Dolphins
Rookie undrafted free agent Preston Williams followed up his strong performance from a week ago with a tough outing in Tampa Bay. He logged multiple drops and finished the contest with just one reception for seven yards.
Dolphins' Montre Hartage and Jonathan Ledbetter both earned low grades against Tampa Bay. Neither rookie had enough positive marks to mask their respective mistakes. Hartage came up short in coverage on several occasions, and Ledbetter missed some opportunities in the run game.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
While Cole Boozer did perform well in the run game, his efforts in pass protection were awful. He allowed multiple pressures across a limited sample size.
Veteran Darian Stewart didn't have a great night before quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick stole his soul with a lowered shoulder on a scramble late in the contest. The Fitztruckstick was just the cherry on top of an already underwhelming performance from Stewart.
