Final Score
New York Jets 22, Atlanta Falcons 10
New York Jets
Former BYU product Bronson Kaufusi, a 2016 third-rounder, turned in quite the performance against the Jets' defensive line. He earned a handful of positive grades, but, more notably, limited his negative plays. He could finish the grading process as the highest-graded defender in the game.
Fellow Jets defensive lineman Henry Anderson also had a strong night in the trenches. While he didn't play a ton of snaps, he made several strong plays in limited action.
Atlanta Falcons
Defensive interior Tyeler Davison wreaked havoc on the Jets in the first half. He notched one stop on a tackle for loss and caused another by standing his man up at the line of scrimmage and forcing the runner to cut back inside.
New York Jets
The backup linemen struggled as a whole for the Jets, but Jordan Morgan‘s issues in pass protection stood out as during second-half play. He was beaten clean off the snap on more than one occasion, forcing quick decisions and inaccurate throws by the quarterback.
Rookie offensive tackle Chuma Edoga struggled significantly in pass protection on Thursday night. He picked up several negative grades across his pass-blocking snaps and failed to deliver above expectation as a run-blocker.
Atlanta Falcons
While veteran cornerback Desmond Trufant did notch a pass break-up during first half play, he also had some struggles in coverage. He gave up multiple catches for first downs and took a pass interference penalty on a downfield throw.
Veteran offensive tackle Ty Sambrailo didn't fare well in pass protection against the Jets' defensive front. He earned multiple negative grades and was responsible for one of the lowest-graded blocks of the contest when he was buried into the turf by a Jets edge defender very early in the game.
