Jay Ajayi being evaluated for a concussion

  • Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reported that Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi left practice early on Monday after trainers took his helmet. Dolphins coach Adam Gase said after practice that Ajayi is being evaluated for a concussion.
  • Ajayi had a breakout season in 2016, improving his overall PFF grade from 80.3 in 2015 to 87.5, the fourth highest graded running back last season.
  • In 2016 Ajayi forced the most missed tackles in the NFL on rushes with 58. His 3.46 yards after contract per attempt was the most among all running backs with at least 150 total touches.
