- James Walker of ESPN reports that Nate Allen looks to start opposite Reshad Jones at safety while T.J. McDonald serves his eight game suspension.
- Allen’s career high grade of 80.3 came in 2014 while playing for the Eagles. The past two years his role has been reduced and in 2016 he earned a 68.0 overall grade.
- Allen saw extensive playing time throughout his career in Philadelphia (averaged 953 snaps in five seasons with the Eagles from 2010-2014) but tackling was never a strong point. Allen ranked 20th among 94 qualified safeties with a 12.6 tackle rate in 2013; but he combined to post a 5.8 tackle rate in his other four seasons in an Eagles uniform, which for reference, would have ranked 93rd out of 108 qualified safeties last season. Allen spent the last two seasons in a reduced role with Oakland but tackling continued to give him issues as he posted a 4.8 tackle rate over that stretch.
