- Geno Atkins continued his superb season with a dominant performance in the Cincinnati Bengals 24-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. His game grade of 94.4 is the fourth-best by any interior defender in a single game so far in 2017.
- Atkins led the Bengals in both run stops (4) and quarterback pressures (7), both of which are season highs for the eighth-year veteran.
- The Colts had no answer for Atkins, who terrorized the interior of their offensive line. Starting right guard Le’Raven Clark posted a game grade of just 33.0 before being replaced at halftime by undrafted rookie Kyle Kalis, who didn’t fare much better, receiving a game grade of 41.1
- Atkins has been stellar against both run and pass this year, ranking fifth in run stop percentage (11.9) and first in pass-rush productivity (12.7) among defensive tackles. His overall season grade of 90.3 ranks fourth among all interior defenders through 8 weeks.
