- As he battles to win the Carolina Panthers starting right tackle job, Daryl Williams will spend part of the offseason working on his pass protection with Hall of Fame offensive lineman Jackie Slater, according to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer.
- Williams finished the 2016 season with a PFF grade of 69.5, ranking 45th out of 78 tackles who played enough snaps to qualify. His pass blocking grade of 51.0 was well below his 74.0 run blocking grade, and ranked 49th among tackles.
- Further highlighting his struggled in pass protection, Williams pass blocking efficiency of 93.7 ranked 47th among offensive tackles to play at least 170 pass blocking snaps in 2016.
