- Field Yates of ESPN reported that Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Danny Shelton will likely be sidelined for 3-6 weeks with a knee injury. Shelton injured his knee in practice on Wednesday.
- Shelton was drafted in the first round by the Browns in 2015, and had a breakout season last year with an overall PFF grade of 85.2 that ranked 15th out of 125 qualifying interior defenders.
- In 2016 Shelton was a force against the run, making the third most run stops (plays graded as a “loss” for the offense) of any interior defender with 39. He had a stop on 9.8% of his snaps against the run, the eighth highest run stop percentage of all interior defenders.
