  • After seeing running back Dalvin Cook on display this offseason, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer thinks he can be “special” for the purple.
  • Special play from the running back position would be a welcomed addition for a Minnesota offense that had just five runs of over 15 yards a year ago, which was last in the league.
  • Cook offers that missing big-play potential, generating 796 yards on runs of 15 or more yards his final season at Florida State.
  • Cook was unrivaled last season in his ability to break tackles, averaging 4.19 yards per carry after contact, while forcing 91 missed tackles on just 288 rushing attempts.
  • No Vikings runner averaged more than 2.05 yards per carry after contact a season ago, and the group as a whole forced just 36 missed tackles on 342 rushing attempts.
