- Dallas Cowboys former left guard turned projected right tackle, La'el Collins, signed a two-year, $15.4 million contract extension with the team as reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The former LSU Tiger went undrafted in 2015 after news broke that he was scheduled to speak with police days after the draft over an incident involving an ex-girlfriend's murder, even though he was not a suspect in the crime.
- But while in college there was no question about his talent. Collins had the highest pass blocking efficiency (a measure of pressure allowed on per snap basis with weighting towards sacks) among tackles in the nation in 2014 with 99.0.
- Collins played left guard his first two seasons in the NFL after being one of the most talented tackles in college football. His production dropped off after the switch to guard with a grade of 53.4 his rookie year and only playing in three games in 2016, surrendering six total pressures and grading poorly in them before being shut down for the season.
