- According to the Washington Post, Washington QB Kirk Cousins told reporters Wednesday that extension talks with the team have been “really positive.” Cousins said “I’m not in a hurry, they’re not in a hurry, so we’ll see how things go.”
- If Cousins and Washington can’t agree on a long-term deal by the July 15 deadline, Cousins will play the 2018 season under the franchise tag for the second straight year, earning just under $24 million fully guaranteed.
- Over the last two seasons Cousins has been one of the most productive QBs in the NFL. In 2015, Cousins earned a PFF overall grade of 81.5, which ranked 15th, and he cracked the top 10 last season, ranking eighth with an overall PFF grade of 85.9.
- A big reason for this is Cousins accuracy, as he ranked eighth last season with an adjusted completion percentage of 76.7 after ranking second in 2015 with a 78.5.
