Chargers trade conditional pick for QB Cardale Jones

  • Adam Schefter reports the Los Angeles Chargers have traded for quarterback Cardale Jones. Jones was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round of the 2016 draft. He played just 19 snaps as a rookie last season.
  • In Jones’ last season at Ohio State he earned an overall grade of just 60.9, which ranked 127th among qualifying quarterbacks. He played slightly better during the 2014 season earning the 89th best quarterback grade among qualifiers at 66.0.
  • During his last season of FBS play Jones struggled while under pressure. His passer rating when kept clean of 108.2 dropped to 50.6 when under pressure. His drop-in passer rating of 57.6 was much higher than the NCAA avg. of 36.2.
