  • Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams might need season-ending back surgery. The Chargers selected Williams with the seventh-overall pick in the 2017 draft.
  • Last season at Clemson, Williams caught 53.8 percent of his deep targets (passes of 20 yards of more). The catch rate ranked seventh best among 109 draft eligible receivers with at least 12 deep targets in 2016.
  • Williams’ average of 3.34 yards per route run in 2016 ranked second in the draft class among all receivers to see more than 140 targets. He also led all Power-5 wide receivers in his class in missed tackles forced last year with 22.
