- As reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, recently cut Minnesota Vikings guard Alex Boone has been signed by the Arizona Cardinals.
- The Cardinals have just 1,324 snaps returning at the guard position along the offensive line entering 2017 with Mike Iupati accounting for 1,034 of those snaps.
- Boone’s 97.7 pass blocking efficiency (measuring pressure on per snap basis with weighting towards sacks) ranked tied for fifth in the league among 77 qualifying guards.
- Boone's strength lies in a power-based, man blocking type of scheme. The Vikings are moving away from those kinds of run concepts, but the Arizona Cardinals ran them on 45.5 percent of their rushes a season ago, so the team ranks among the best possible fits for Boone's skill set.
