- Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie RB Jeremy McNichols has been cleared for training camp according to Rick Stroud. McNichols missed all of OTAs and minicamp due to offseason shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum.
- McNichols finished the 2016 season with an overall PFF grade of 86.5 which ranked ninth and was the sixth best grade among draft-eligible running backs.
- With the suspension of Doug Martin for the first three games of the NFL season, McNichols may need to contribute early. McNichols was one of the more elusive backs in this year’s draft class forcing 62 missed tackles while running the ball which ranked fifth among draft-eligible running backs.
- McNichols could also factor into the passing game, of the 41 catchable passes thrown his way last season McNichols only dropped two, for a drop rate of 4.88 percent which ranked tenth among draft eligible backs with at least 25 targets.
