- The Bucs are “privileged to have O.J. Howard” according to Jameis Winston, who was glowing about his new TE during interviews this week.
- Howard was a true in-line TE at Alabama, with 69 percent of his targets coming in that capacity and just three passes coming his way in 2016 when split out wide.
- Howard saw 10 targets in deep posts, corners, or go routes last season at Alabama, catching five of those for 178 yards and a touchdown, and it is on those routes that Winston hopes to use his dynamism over the middle.
- 14 of Winston’s touchdowns last season came on those three deep routes, and the additions of Howard and DeSean Jackson in the offseason should only aid that.
