- Second-year quarterback Cody Kessler believes his arm strength has improved this offseason. The Browns traded for Brock Osweiler and drafted former Notre Dame standout DeShone Kizer at the quarterback position, which should create competition heading into training camp.
- Kessler ranked third in deep-passing adjust completion percentage (throws 20-plus yards downfield) among rookie quarterbacks with at least 10 deep pass attempts last season (five such players), at 33.3 percent, trailing only Dallas' Dak Prescott (41.9 percent) and Philadelphia's Carson Wentz (35.9 percent).
- The Browns made improving their offensive line a priority this offseason, which should help Kessler better his 2016 passer rating of 82.4 when under pressure and his passer rating of 99.1 when throwing from a clean pocket.
