- The Cleveland Browns have been impressed by new QB Brock Osweiler during OTAs, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that there are rumblings that the 26-year old veteran could enter training camp as the team’s top quarterback.
- Osweiler was traded to the Browns this offseason after a disappointing first season with the Houston Texans. His 40.3 overall grade last year ranked 32nd in the NFL.
- One area of his game that did stand out, however, was his percentage of yards in the air. He tied for sixth at 62.5 percent, meaning he received less production from his receivers making plays after the catch with most of his yards coming just on his throws.
- Osweiler also did a good job of not letting pass-rushers convert pressure into sacks. Despite being under pressure on 38.5 percent of his dropbacks (tied for 10th highest), he was only sacked on 12.7 percent of his dropbacks, the seventh lowest mark in the NFL.
