  • On the day that rookies report to training Bears training camp, The Chicago Bears have signed quarterback Mitchell Trubisky to a four-year contract. The former North Carolina quarterback was taken with the second-overall pick of the 2017 NFL draft, and will reportedly sit behind Mike Glennon for the 2017 season.
  • Trubisky has just 865 snaps of starting experience at the college level, and despite his limited experience, he earned a PFF overall grade of 86.0, the third highest grade of the 2017 quarterback class.
  • In 2016, Trubisky’s adjusted completion percentage of 74.1 percent, ranked sixth of 30 draft-eligible quarterbacks. He was very successful throwing downfield, and had a passer rating of 119.0 when throwing 20 or more yards, the second highest mark of the draft class.
  • With Trubisky now signed, the Bears will hope he can start to challenge Mike Glennon for the starting role. Glennon has played just 15 snaps over the past two seasons, and in his year as a starter in 2013, he achieved a PFF overall grade of 72.1, which ranked 28th of 42 qualifying quarterbacks in the league.
