Hey football fans, here are five things you need to know from yesterday to start off your Wednesdays:
- The Patriots lead our early AFC projections. After a Super Bowl win and a good offseason, the Patriots retain the top spot. The AFC West retains its title of the best division in football, with 3 teams in the top six.
- Jarvis Landry is focused on the upcoming season, not his contract situation. Landry won't want to talk about his contract once the season starts. Landry has been one of the most productive slot receivers since he entered the league.
- Head coach Sean McDermott is impressed with Tyrod Taylor's leadership. Taylor has been an above average option at quarterback for the Bills since earning the starting job two years ago. He is even effective under pressure, throwing 10 touchdowns while under pressure in 2016
- Arik Armstead may not see much work on passing downs. After a solid rookie year, Armstead had a down, injuried-filled year. He was an effective pass-rusher these last two years despite the injury.
- How much does a player's division affect his fantasy production? PFF fantasy editor Danny Kelley investigated which players were most helped and most hurt by their 2016 schedules among quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers. One of the best fantasy running backs in the league could have been even better had he not played in the AFC East.
