Hey there football fans! Here are five things you need to know from yesterday to begin your Thursday:
- PFF ranked all 32 front sevens for the 2017 season! With the offseason and draft shuffle mostly completed, PFF looked at the front seven of every team and ranked them. The Texans came in at No. 1, as Whitney Mercilus and Jadeveon Clowney look to pair with the all-world J.J. Watt as he returns to health.
- PFF's Michael Renner's latest edition to the Teaching Tape series was on the Arizona Cardinals and their fierce pass rush. The Cardinals had the highest pressure rate in 2016 thanks to Bruce Arian's desire to feature the blitz.
- There were more entries to PFF's 2018 Prospect Previews! NFL teams are already scouting for the future, so why shouldn't their fans? Yesterday, PFF put out previews on T Connor Williams and DE Harold Landry, opposing forces along the line of scrimmage.
- Calvin Johnson was one of the best players in the PFF era. Before retiring early, Johnson put up metrics that were near or at the top of the league quite regularly. He was among the top-10 in grades at the wide receiver position for six straight years (2010-2015).
- PFF released our top 200 rankings for PPR leagues! No less than eight of our expert staff ranked their top players in point per reception leagues, forming the PFF Top 200 Consensus PPR Rankings. It's not a surprise that running backs form the top trio of the rankings, given that each of them are prolific pass-catching backs.
