Hey there football fans! Here are five things from Sunday that you need to know to start off your Mondays:

The Chargers plan to put LB Denzel Perryman on IR. He should return at some point during the regular season, but an ankle injury will cost him a lot of the year.

Perryman’s overall grade of 70.7 ranked 44th of 88 qualifying linebackers last season. His production dropped off from 2015, Perryman’s rookie year, where he earned a grade of 82.4 and ranked 15th at his position.

While his snap total (403 to 481) and snap percentage (40.9 percent to 58.6 percent) both increased from 2015 to 2016, Perryman had 10 fewer defensive stops and nine more missed tackles in his second season. He did however increase his pass-rushing productivity, tallying eight total pressures on just 28 pass-rush snaps in 2016.

The 49ers have placed RB Joe Williams on injured reserve. Williams was a controversial pick among 49ers brass.

Williams led the team in preseason playing time with 66 snaps, the most of all 49ers backs, but he was outplayed by fellow rookie Matt Breida and 2015 free agent Raheem Mostert across the warm up games.

Williams ended the preseason with good numbers, gaining 5.2 yards per carry, 3.8 of which came after contact, breaking four tackles on 25 carries, but he did fumble the ball and dropped one of his five targets.

The Bills have cut RB Jonathan Williams. The move comes as a surprise, with many expecting him to be the No. 2 running back in Buffalo.

Williams carried the ball 27 times in 2016, gaining 94 yards, 50 of which came after contact thanks to breaking five tackles along the way.

In preseason he gained 5.8 yards per carry, 3.6 of which were after first contact, again breaking five tackles on just 21 attempts. He avoided fumbling on any of his preseason carries, having lost the handle on the football twice during the regular season a year ago.

LeSean McCoy is unquestionably the guy in the Bills backfield, with only Joe Banyard and Taiwan Jones to compete for backup carries, outside of FB Mike Tolbert.

The Seahawks traded edge defender Cassius Marsh to the Patriots. The Seahawks received fifth and seventh-round draft picks for Marsh.

Marsh played a career high 36.2 percent of snaps in 2016, recording nine defensive stops in his 436 snaps.

The fourth-year defensive end recorded a pass-rush productivity, measures pressure on per snap basis with weighting towards sacks, of 8.5 with a career high 28 total pressures.

The Raiders placed LB Jelani Jenkins on IR. They also waived Shilique Calhoun among other moves to get to a 53-man roster.

Jenkins had performed well against the run this preseason, making seven stops on 29 run snaps. His run stop percentage of 24.1% (percentage of stops per snap played in run defense) led all linebackers with 25-plus snaps against the run this preseason.

Oakland drafted Calhoun in the third round in 2016, and he was not effective last season playing 173 snaps in a reserve role. He had one sack and only four total pressures in 66 pass rush attempts last year.
