Hey football aficionados, here are five things you need to know from yesterday to start your week off right:

  1. Patrick Chung will be playing for more incentives this year. After a down year, the Patriots have boosted Chung's incentive based pay. He had a good 2014 and 2015, but his 2016 was poor by his standards.
  2. Kareem Jackson is getting work at safety. Despite playing almost no career snaps at any safety position, Jackson is seeing more work there this offseason. Jackson has been up and down in his career, but he's proven to be a reliable option at slot and boundary cornerback in the past.
  3. Torrey Smith is not guaranteed to be a starter. After earning a reputation as a deep threat in Baltimore, Smith had a couple of down years in San Francisco. Now, he may not even be a starter for Philadelphia. While he graded out as the second worst qualified receiver in 2016, another Eagle whom he is competing with, Nelson Agholor, graded out as the worst.
  4. Which teams should put up more fantasy points in the upcoming season? Fantasy editor Daniel Kelley identified five teams (well, four really) that saw a significant reduction to their overall offensive fantasy output last year, and those teams generally bounce back well historically.
  5. Curtis Patrick identified five mid-round fantasy players who could have great value. In re-draft leagues, it's often the middle round picks that have good seasons that keep your team running on all cylinders. One of the most intriguing selections here is New England's Mike Gillislee.
Safety worth way more than 2 points. Help protect your family with fast, free will.
