Hey there football fans! Here are five things from yesterday you need to know to start off your Fridays:

  1. PFF examined the NFL's coverage scheme tendencies. PFF Senior Analyst Sam Monson looked at all the different coverages that NFL teams employ to stop the pass. He found that the league is very zone heavy, but the teams that run the most man coverage tend to have some of the better defensive backs in the league, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, and Denver Broncos.
  2. Bell plans on playing 16 games this season. Le'Veon Bell and the Pittsburgh Steelers failed to come to an agreement on a long term deal and it's unclear whether Bell will get to training camp on time, but he intends to play out the season. The Steelers would be happy to get an entire regular season from Bell, as he's only played in all of their regular season games just once in his career.
  3. Palmer is not experience dead arm this offseason. After dealing with the issue in 2016, QB Carson Palmer says he feels 100 percent going into camp this year. The dead arm could have interfered with his deep passing production, which took a nose dive in 2016.
  4. Which teams were the least efficient scorers in 2016? PFF's Daniel Kelley investigated the relationship between yards accrued and points scored to find out which teams were most and least efficient in getting the ball in the endzone. Amazingly, the Los Angeles Rams would have scored even less points than they actually did last year had they not been lucky.
  5. The fantasy football team power rankings continued! Tyler Loechner brought you teams 20 through 17 yesterday. Pretty much every single one of these teams are full of talented fantasy options that just quite didn't break out, or in the case of A.J. Green, got hurt amid their breakout season.
Safety worth way more than 2 points. Help protect your family with fast, free will.
