  • Jaleel Scott has been on a tear to start the season for New Mexico State and his 2017 breakout season is showcasing an NFL skill-set. Scott only caught 22 passes all of 2016 season but already has 35 catches on 50 targets for 543 yards five touchdowns in 2017.
  • Scott is a large target at 6-foot-6, 215-pounds, and he is able to use his strength and size to keep defensive backs away from the ball and win in contested-catch situations. Scott has graded well as a pass-catcher in all five games this season. His performances haven’t just come against Group of 5 teams either, as Scott has averaged 8.5 catches for 161.5 yards and 1.5 touchdowns in his two games against Power-5 competition in 2017.
  • Scott has really stood out as a deep threat where he can use his ball-tracking ability and size to his advantage to come down with chunk plays for his offense. 12 of his catches have been on deep passes targeted 20 or more yards downfield, that mark leads FBS wide receivers. Scott has collected 328 yards and three touchdowns on those 12 deep catches.
