- The Georgia defense has been outstanding this season and linebacker Roquan Smith has been right in the middle of the action. He was all over the field against Tennessee, grading at 91.5 overall and he now ranks eighth among the nation’s linebackers with an 88.7 overall grade.
- Smith has been outstanding against the run and in coverage over the last two-plus seasons, and he finished with 10 tackles and a game-high six stops against Tennessee. He’s yet to miss a tackle so far this season on 42 attempts.
- In the run game, Smith has a good feel for finding the ball and avoiding blockers while doing a fine job of keeping the ball in front of him in coverage. Smith’s production is difficult to ignore when projecting him to the next level, and his presence in the middle is a huge reason for Georgia’s early-season domination.
